The Tree House Park Competition calls on young architects to envision tree houses in daily urban life as a new typology bringing man and nature closer together.
The competition will be organised in two phases and is open to all young architects 30 years of age and under who seek to explore the ecological possibilities of architecture for the 21st century. Competition registration is free. The 1st phase will require entrants to submit a “Statement of Intent” of 500 words and a portfolio of relevant work due on March 15, 2021. The 2nd phase will start on April 1, 2021 with the publication of the 10 finalists chosen from first phase. |
STATEMENT
Since the Industrial Revolution, the war between humankind and nature has begun. To this day, the human slaughter of nature is still continuing. Since the 20th century, people have begun to reflect and try to show kindness to nature. However, in fact, we have been deceived in the imagination of being friendly with nature...
"Great wall of natural massacre" is to strengthen the antagonistic relationship between humans and nature. Face up to the differences between the two and create a wall with a length of about 600 meters and a width of 6 meters. Through a strong definition, nature can therefore truly become nature. Humans and architecture are regarded as intruders here, prying into nature through the borders. Only the tree house serves as the channel connecting the two. People will climb over the wall and enter the nature through the tree house, just like an abstract and illegal smuggling behavior.
WALL
The 42-meter-high, 6-meter-wide wall divides humans and nature into two worlds. The wall surrounds nature in a circle, forming a circular trail.
People can reach the top of the wall through the elevator, and carry out possible activities in contact with nature through the platforms and linear areas distributed on the wall. Only through the tree house, people can enter the world of pristine nature. There is a purely natural realm. People can run and jump, camp and take risks there...
